About Us

Our History

Kathy DuVall started FaerieLand Rescue in 2009. After spending 9 years working with another rescue fostering Welsh Corgis, Kathy saw a need for a rescue in MN. When a friend asked her to take in two German Shepherds and find them a home because he could not care for them, the rescue began.

Kathy’s previous background was raising purebred German Shepherd Dogs beginning in 1978. Kathy’s goal when she began raising the German Shepherd Dog was to start a line that was healthy, intelligent, balanced in structure and the best temperament anyone could want. In the late 1990’s, Kathy added the Pembroke Welsh Corgi to her house. She appreciated how similar this breed was to the German Shepherd Dog.

In 2016, an incorporated entity was established, FaerieLand Rescue Inc., and 501(c)(3) nonprofit status was obtained. With the passion and the love of the two breeds, FaerieLand Rescue has become a well-known name today.

Mission Statement

FaerieLand Rescue provides essential care and adoption services to German Shepherds and Corgis. We strive to protect and promote these two breeds.

FaerieLand Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Minnesota. We welcome purebreds and mixes of German Shepherds and Welsh Corgis, including owner-surrendered, abused, neglected and stray dogs, as well as those from animal control. We educate the public on spaying and neutering of dogs and the importance of vaccinations, training and socialization. All dogs at the rescue are evaluated with the goal of rehabilitation and placement in a FUREVER home. Over 400 dogs have been saved since commencing operations.
