Meet Lolita-I2341, a German Shepherd with 3 legs. Her DOB is 5.30.21 and her adoption fee is $400.00. She is spay, vaccinated and has a microchip.
If you are serious about this dog, Please go to our website to complete an application. www.faerielandrescue.org/resources. We do not adopt our dogs to folks who live in apartments.
Lolita came to us as an owner surrender. She had broken her hind leg, It was repaired but the surgery didn't work. The leg was stiff and not functional. On top of that it had a gnarly infection because the hardware from the previous surgery was coming through and we could see bone. After consulting with the vet, the best way to give Lolita quality of life, would be to get the infection under control and remove her leg.
Barely a few days after her surgery, life came back into her eyes. The pain and suffering she had with that leg, was gone and she was given a new lease on life. She now runs, plays and can lay down easier without it. She loves to play fetch and has been around dogs. She would do great with another dog that is mild mannered and loving. She would also be just fine as an ONLY DOG. Her energy is very high. She has been around kids and loves them. She's learning to be aware of her size and is trying to be as calm as she can, but she just wants to show everyone how thankful she is. Just because she has 3 legs doesn't mean she can't run, in fact she enjoys it soo much!
Let's find this girl a furever home where she can run and chase as many balls!
As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved.
We do not allow our dogs to be tied, tethered, chained or secured on a tie out for any of our dogs. We do not allow our shepherds to go into homes with an underground electronic fence system. Lolita does require a fenced, secure yard for exercise. In order to adopt this dog without a fenced, secure yard, you must demonstrate you are responsible with a dog for exercise.
